The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at Indiana University-Bloomington (IUB) is calling for applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering (ISE) starting in August 2022. ISE is an innovative program that focuses on the intersection of intelligent computing methods and systems engineering. ISE offers BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees with specialization in Computer Engineering, Cyber-physical Systems, Bioengineering, and Molecular and Nanometric Engineering at the undergraduate level, with additional graduate programs in Neuroengineering and Engineering. of the environment.

We are particularly interested in hiring in the academic field of computer systems engineering, including specializations in high performance computing, intelligent systems, applied machine learning and artificial intelligence, reconfigurable computing, embedded systems (edge) and cyber-physical systems. . Preference will be given to applicants who solve system problems with an application in one or more of these ISE concentrations.

ISE professors should develop an active, externally funded research program, engaging students at all levels. Professional duties will include research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, participating in curriculum development and evaluation, school service, and participation in professional communities. We seek candidates committed to excellence in teaching coursework of interest to a wide range of undergraduate and graduate engineering students while fostering diversity and inclusion.

Applicants must have a demonstrable potential for excellence in research and teaching and a PhD (or ScD) in engineering, computer science or a related scientific discipline which is expected to be awarded by August 2022.
